Ryan has been composing music for film and television for the past 20 years. During this time, he has created scores for a wide variety of projects including over 15 feature films and numerous documentary and lifestyle programs. His music has reached a wide audience with programs being broadcast in over 120 countries.
In 2008, Ryan composed music for the gemini award winning television series "Departures". The show's success led to the release of a soundtrack album in 2010 which spent over six weeks as one of the top ten electronic music albums sold on iTunes in Canada.
An accomplished instrumentalist, sound designer and producer, Ryan has recorded and toured with several musical acts throughout the late 1990's and early 2000's. Known for crafting rich and emotive soundscapes, Ryan has also garnered attention for his extraordinary versatility; composing music in a multitude of genres from whimsical and heartfelt orchestral music, to uplifting electronica and driving rock. His work has included partnerships with producers and directors both domestically and as part of international co-productions.
His work in feature film began in 2007 with his score for the film "Bottom Feeder" starring Tom Sizemore. His music quickly gained notoriety leading him to compose music for many other feature films including "Just Business" with Gina Gershon in 2008, and later, "The Dogfather" featuring Chris Parnell of "Saturday Night Live".
Ryan presently lives in Toronto, Canada where he continues to produce music for film, television and new media.
